Emergency communications, repeater linking, and public service applications are all areas that keep my interest.
Amateur radio blends experimentation, community, and practical communication in a way few hobbies do. I enjoy the technical side, but just as much the real-world usefulness that comes with staying ready, learning continuously, and making solid contacts.
